Client: Passion Project

This is another addition to my passion project of redesigning movies, books, or DVD covers. Chungking Express was filmed and directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-Wai. The movie is about two melancholy Hong Kong policemen who fall in love. One with a mysterious female underworld figure, and the other with a beautiful and ethereal waitress at a late-night restaurant he frequents. I chose to illustrate the famous scene of Officer 663 and the waitress sharing a moment as people walk by.

I have symbols from the movie as a top and bottom border, and I chose a serif font that mimics the sharp corners Chinese pen calligraphy can have.
