Client: Passion Project

This is another entry in my passion project of redesigning movies, books, and DVD covers. Chungking Express (1994), directed by Wong Kar-wai, follows two policemen in Hong Kong, each searching for connection. I chose to focus on the second story, where Officer 663 gradually forms a tender bond with a waitress at a late-night food stand. My illustration captures the quiet moment they share as the world hurries by around them.

I have symbols from the movie as a top and bottom border, and I chose a serif font that mimics the sharp corners Chinese pen calligraphy can have.
